We hope no one has blown away during the past few days! Orders picking up and this blog is going to become very busy again. We also will begin selling Christmas trees next month! But for now, we just wanted to stop by and let you know that we are taking a few days off to spend time together and recharge. We will not be open Saturday, October 25th & Monday, October 27th.
and of course take some good cabin naps!
Once a season we like to escape to our favorite place – the cabin! We are sorry if this inconvenience you in anyway. We will resume normal hours Tuesday, October 28.

Calling All Antiquers!

Our Antique Loft is coming along really nicely! We are using old partition boards for walls. We think it creates a one-of-a-kind type of character. Keep looking for more updates. Also, please feel free to contact us if you would like to rent a booth!

Our booths are 12’X12′.
We still have a lot of work to do, but are happy with how it is turning out!

Week’s Update

We have been getting more orders to build different projects rather then just make flooring. This has been a new avenue for us that we are really excited about! Check out our latest projects below!
Order #9531 asked us to make bench tops out of our Weatherboard. The bench tops are glued together and sanded.

Order #9549 asked us to make them a counter top for a bar. The counter top is finished and ready to be picked up!
We are also making great progress with our antique loft! All the empty sections you see use to be filled with doors. We have been sorting through and sorting everything. Soon those sections will be transformed into vendor booths! We are hoping to have between 8-10 different vendors. If you or anyone you know may be interested in having a booth, please contact us!

TA DA!!!

Our sign is officially up and looking good!
We are really proud of how it turned out! Tyler made the letters, and Dean and him hung them. We are just putting the finishing touches on by adding lights to the sign today. We are also going to be concentrating on cleaning and organizing that part of the business this week. We are really excited about it and will be sharing pictures from the inside as things start to come together. Please share the word about our new and improved antique aspect of our company! It is the perfect pit-stop for your Lititz (AKA the coolest small town in America) visit!
Last week, we also had a customer share some pictures from their job site with us, to share with you.

Beautiful finished flooring!

They also took pictures of the products they used to finished the floor.

The flooring looks beautiful and fits nicely with the preexisting flooring. Thanks for sharing! Remember we love to see pictures from customer’s projects.

Quick Order Update

I have a few updates and a lot of photos to share with you today…
First, order #9510 for 250 feet of White Pine flooring was completed today.
Also, you may remember a few weeks ago I shared about how we have a customer who is redoing a home and had to cut down trees. (This post was on our old blog server and is therefore lost.) The customer believed that those tree held significant importance to the rest of the house, so they asked us to saw the tree up and do what we could with them.
Well, we just finished making flooring out of two of the trees. We think it turned out pretty well. How special will this flooring be in their home!?
They also asked us to make a few 2″ planks for benches and tabletops.
How cool?!
That’s all folks!

Big Weekend Means Big Week

This weekend is a big one! This Saturday is the annual J.R.M.F. golf tournament. If you have been following this blog for any amount of time, you probably have heard us talk about J.R.M.F. Although our company, Sylvan Brandt, does not run the non-profit, we greatly support it. The golf tournament is our largest fundraisers for the year. Don’t worry it’s still not too late to be apart of it! You still have time to sign up a foursome, come eat a yummy meal with us, sponsor a hole, or donate prizes. Please contact us if you have any interest at all!

In addition to getting ready for the golf tournament this weekend, we are also busy getting our antiques cleaned up and advertised. This week Tyler is busy making a large sign to hang on the outside of our warehouse. It’s coming along really well!

We also finished order #9529 for 350 feet of wide Oak this week.
Since we were already making Oak, we are stocking it as well. So far we have just been sawing it. If you are interested in our Oak flooring we will have an inventory of all-ready-made and ready-to-go-to-your-home flooring. We know you want it!
Happy Tuesday everyone!

With the coming of a new season…

… comes more changes here at Sylvan Brandt’s!

It seems that with each new coming season we have new and exciting things to share with you!

First things first! As you may or may not know, we sell antique doors, hinges, windows, etc. We use do to a lot of business with our antiques. However, when we moved from our old location to our new location, a lot of people thought that we stopped that aspect of our business, when in fact we did not. So, we have been brainstorming some different ideas as to how to jump start that part of our business again. As things get going I will be sharing more and more with you, but for right now, know that we DO in fact still sell our antiques and collectables and we would LOVE for you to come stop by and take a look!

Now you may be thinking, “But I live too far away! I can’t just drive there!” Do not fear! Etsy is here! I know I have mentioned it a few times, but we now have an Etsy shop! (Link is above!) As things get going we will be adding more and more items on there.

Okay, now onto order updates!

Earlier this week we finished order #9480. This order was for 540 square feet of narrow Heart Pine flooring.

Tongue and Groove

All Finished!

Also this week, we made 134 square feet of 2.5″ Heart Pine stock. This type of flooring is often used to match older new style floors, but it is also narrow like newer flooring. My husband and I have been redoing a house built in 1920. This flooring was perfect for replacing missing or damaged pieces in our home.

And finally, a few weeks ago I shared with you that Tyler was working on a new table, well it’s just about done! Check out these pictures below! It is really turning into a beautiful one-of-a-kind table!

If you are reading this blog, there is a good chance that you would love a new rustic table made out of barn wood. Come to our office and check out this as well as some of our other tables. We can custom make you a table to your liking, or even sell you the wood for you to make your own!

3 Order Update!

Hello Readers!

Today we have a quick update on three different orders that are in progress.

Today we are working on edging Weatherboard for order #9514. The board below was edged at 9 3/4″ and will finish out as a 9″ wide board once ran through the moulder.
