Customer Feature
August 18, 2015Today’s post highlights a recent customer. They even did a small write up on the history of the house. Check it out below! And seriously, don’t those Heart Pine floors look awesome?
“As far as information about the project, West Acre (in Darlington, Maryland) was designed by Walter Cope and built c. 1887. The house has original heart pine flooring in all three stories. The original heart pine flooring in the mudroom, kitchen and butler’s pantry had water damage and several layers of linoleum and Pergo when the owners purchased the home this year. The original flooring was uncovered and determined to not be salvageable. Sylvan Brandt provided the reclaimed heart pine flooring to replace the flooring in the rooms.”
It is so great when we can help restore a house that has such history and beauty! We don’t have a minimum on how much flooring we sell (nor do we have a maximum 😉 ) so whether you are patching an existing floor or need to redo a floor, we can help you out!
We love when customers share there projects with us! Please feel free to share yours.
What a week it has been!
August 11, 2015We have had quite the few weeks over here. Thank you to everyone who has been patient with us as we didn’t have our whole crew together for two weeks (Tyler & Kaddie were away and then Dean was away the next week), then we had a very busy week. What were we doing? Well…
On Thursday we loaded 156 Hand Hewn Oak beams that were headed to California and then on to Hawaii. (Yes! You read that right – 156 Oak beams headed to Hawaii!)
Then Friday we scrambled as we got everything ready for our annual Open House and Craft Show!
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us this past Saturday. It was a success and we were able to raise enough money to send a few kids to church camp! Praise the Lord. Unfortunately, we were apparently too busy to take any pictures except one of me not paying attention… at least the booth looks pretty good!
Again, thank you for making this year another success. We have some really big plans for next year so make sure to keep an eye out and an ear open!
There is some exciting stuff coming up!
August 6, 2015August 8th!
July 30, 2015Next Saturday is our annual Open House in conjunction with the 2015 Lititz Craft Show!
Our 3rd annual open house and craft show is coming up August 8th. If you live anywhere close to Lititz, or even if you don’t, you may have heard about the Lititz Craft Show. Every August Lititz closes down its main streets and fills them with vendors selling handmade crafts! We have been there the past two years and will be there this year too!
Now you may be thinking to yourself, “Sylvan Brandt isn’t a crafting company. They sell flooring!” Well yes, that is true, but we are also a craftsman’s paradise! We invite different people to make and donate crafts out of our wood and antiques. We then sell these crafts in downtown Lititz.
Now you may also be wondering, “Why would you ask people to donate crafts?” Well, did you also know that Sylvan Brandt supports the Jack Reich Memorial Fund, (or JRMF for short)? The Jack Reich Memorial Fund exists to raise money for children to go to church camp who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to attend. 100% of sales from the craft show go to this fund.
That same day we also have an open house at our office and mill. During our open house we give mill tours, have flooring sales, free hot dogs and sodas, as well as a bounce house for children. And let us not forget that our antiques loft will be open and ready for some serious antique shopping! We have a lot of great deals going on that day!
It is a great time to be had by all! Please stop by, even if it’s just to say hello!
