Sorry it has been quiet…
April 21, 2015Don’t worry though. We haven’t gone anywhere.
Today we have just a few updates for you!
Our metal extraction technician is hard at work cleaning these white oak beams from a local barn that burned down. Fortunately, the majority of the beams were only charred and are still solid so we were able to save them from becoming firewood. That’s what we’re here for 🙂
We cut these three beams in half using our walk-behind bandsaw for a local contractor. The will be used on a ceiling. Have trees or beams you would like cut? Bring them over!
We’ve finished sawing Heart Pine for order #9772. Just two more weeks and your floor will be ready! Anticipation!!!!!! 😉
1 of 3 large 4’x8′ barn doors being made for order #9762. Planed side is the back, rough side is the front. The process has just begun by cutting and gluing up the boards. They are ready to be sanded and have the border added and an X on the front.
That is all for today! Hope you are enjoying the beginnings of Spring!
Countertop Made Out of Weatherboard
April 9, 2015Just a Reminder…
March 31, 2015Spring is here!!!
March 24, 2015Finally…
We have some more updates for you today!
We purchased these large chestnut beams to help get some wide boards for order #9724. The nails will be taken out of them, and they will be sawn and placed in the drying room to finish the order next week.
Jordan is cleaning and edging A LOT of siding that just finished its ten day cycle in the drying room.
We are just 200 feet shy of finishing the second pack for order #9647 for 1430 square feet of Rustic Oak.
Tyler is working on another table order this week for order #9731. He just glued up two sides of a counter top that will be joined in the staggered corner. I am really excited to see how this one comes out!
These Heart Pine floor joists are being sawn for order #9733. To think that this “junky” barn wood, that is typically counted out by many, can enter the reclaiming and restoring process to become some of the most beautiful, sought after, high end floors is incredible!
We hope that you are enjoying your Tuesday!
We are suppose to get 5-8″ of snow tomorrow…
March 19, 2015… but this post has nothing to do with that. Thank goodness.
Instead… updates…
We just started to work on Chestnut for order #9724 for 1,4000 square feet. It is one of Tyler’s favorites so he is very excited about it!
Three oak granary boards glued together, about to get stained, to form a 3×5 pallet. Don’t know what a granary is? That’s okay, I didn’t either… according to Google,
“A granary is a storehouse or room in a barn for threshed grain or animal feed. Ancient or primitive granaries are most often made out of pottery. Granaries are often built above the ground to keep the stored food away from mice and other animals.”
Also, a 3×5 pallet of Weatherboard “shorts” nailed onto plywood. Both are for order #9729 – a commercial food photographer as platforms to shoot food on….yum!
A 3.5’x9′ Hemlock table that was added to order #9715 of ten similar style 3’x3′ tables for their new cafe called Brick Gables which is opening soon!
Heart pine floor joists that are being cleaned and cut in half for order #9733.
Jordan is stacking a fresh batch of barn siding that will be used to help finish the Weatherboard orders that we are currently working on.
and today we are soaking in as much sun and warmth as we can.
No matter what tomorrow has in store for us, Spring starts Saturday!

Jordan’s birthday is today, so we let him pick the winner. |
How we chose a winner –
We gave every person who entered the contest a number – people that entered twice, got two numbers.
We then put the numbers into the old coffee container pictured above.
Birthday Boy Jordan picked the winner!
Now… the moment we all have been waiting for…
Drum roll please!
